Limited Edition bronze resting giraffe sculpture by Loet Vanderveen (1921-2015). Signed and Numbered 539 in a Limited Edition of 2500. Vanderveen's innovative and sophisticated use of patinas allowed him to capture the essence of animals without excessive detail. His mastery of bronze casting and his unique style has earned him international recognition as a leading sculptor of animal life.   The sculpture measures  approximately 5 1/2 long and 3 1/4 high.     It is composed of bronze. The bottom half off the giraffe looks like marble but is actually bronze with the marbleized effect created by Vanderveen's unique multi step patina process. The sculpture is in very good condition.
